Just when you thought they were all made in the 70's and 80's this appears from the year 2001. Ancient Rome must have been a wonderful place to live if you were a fan of girl fights,or female warriors.
This as got to be different, apparently this is the ancient festival of Takanakuy which takes place on Christmas Day. As a celebration you fight it out with friends and relatives, both men and women. It's hard to believe but there are rules,no biting or kicking an opponent who as gone to ground and there is a referee on hand armed with a whip!!!Should things get really out of hand the local police are in attendance.
I mentioned a short while back the friend of Nadine in Germany who started out in judo, with a little help from Nadine and Google Translate she as been following things in the Mixed Wrestling Forum UK and noticed a thread that as run for a little while regarding judo. The thread led to a link that indirectly took them to this clip which led to some excitement in a certain house when shown to someones man,the old judo suit came out and a rerun of years past happened. I think this goes under the heading"too much information"though I do believe a certain guy didn't have the flacid problem of the guy in the clip.
I love these bouts even though I don't understand a word. It appears the star of the show takes on all comers one after the other, including one or two who could almost rank as child cruelty anywhere else but Japan.
A few years ago if you were to make a film which contained a girl fight you would hire the lovely Pam Grier seen here in the Big Dolls House. The film in 1971 was her debut on the big screen at the age of twenty two.
Looking to add to her unbeaten record and make it ten from ten in only three years. From walking through the door of Gleasons Gym to WBC Super Bantam Weight Champ is some achievement.
Heather"the heat"Hardy giving the press a brief glimpse of the effort she puts into fitness for a fight. Some achievement for a thirty three years old mom.
Action from Germany, the Hanseatic City of Rostock in Northern Germany hosted this bout featuring Scotland's Kay Lee Ray in action against Germany's Melanie Gray an experienced wrestler of some nine years, who as also appeared as the Baroness of Arrogance, which translates equally well back to German as Baronin von Arroganz.
My thanks to our friend Nadine in Germany for pointing me in the way of this bout. Alecia Melina Kummer originally from Buchholz and now a resident of Hamburg takes on Jekaterina Lecko for the German GBA Lightweight Title. Not an ideal match up as miss Necko as only two wins out of her eight bouts and one of those was on her debut. Miss Kummer on the other hand as stopped all her seven opponents inside the distance, only needing to box ten rounds in all.
I mentioned recently the FemWrestle meeting in Germany a short while back. The guy behind the brilliant Mixed Wrestling Forum UK,did attend and as put together a great factual report of his time there. As brief resume of his work the event was put on by the rather glum looking guy seen here Cyrus.Great credit as to be given to him as anyone who as tried to organise even a much smaller local event will tell you just waiting and hoping the full complement of girls you have booked show up is stressful enough,so to organise something on this scale must be almost heart attack inducing. The pics here are just a small selection of those featured on the forum so look up the forum and Zwieg.
I have followed with interest a theme in the forums about female athletes.Taking the theme a little further, which of them would you like to see wrestle? My own choice would be Jessica Ennis-Hill the U.K's gold winning olympian who many agree as the most superb abs. Who would I like to see her on the mat with? For me it's got to be the lovely blonde Antscha whose more recent talents seem to suggest she enjoys humiliating men.
