I have to admit having missed a news article of a couple years ago,at the time wrestling was to return to our tv screens in the U.K.and for the first time would feature the girls in the ring. Interestingly is that one of the rising stars is Connie Steele daughter of the legend Klondyke Kate a veteran of thirty years in the squared circle,I had never realised her life away from the ring was so turbulent she having not realised she was pregnant with her eldest  son till a couple of weeks before his birth and she was back in the ring within another couple of weeks. I still meet up with a friend who wrestled Jayne a number of times and swears by what a lovely person she is,a far cry from the ring persona.Now resident in Weymouth she looks fantastic having lost over 14 stone(88kilos)of her ring weight.

I have to wonder what did the guys in these girls lives think of this,I'm sure they were sore for some time after.

An interesting debut fight for Birmingham's Kirstie Bavington against a more than capable if not class 39 years old Bulgarian Miss Goranova with a mere 11 wins from 64 contests many like this against girls of little experience or on debut.

Two girls getting plenty of encouragement from friends to hurt eachother,you can only imagine the headaches after this.

I have mentioned before one of the guys who as worked for me had taken part in boxing in every form from being a pro in the ring to fighting for cash in fields etc.and one of the things he maintained was that it was safer to fight with bare knuckles and he couldn't understand why the girls didn't do it. He'll be pleased to know that recently in the USA his wish was granted when Alma Garcia a boxer from Denver took on Bec Rawlings an MMA fighter from Australia. The fight was I believe stopped in the second round with Miss Garcia having sustained a lot of damage to her face.

I must admit that I had never seen the complete bout.In the short clips I had seen Edita got a quick win,when in fact it went into third round and despite some damage to her eye I get the impression that her opponent would have fought on had she been allowed.

Warm work on the mat and just wait fr the guy having to pay his penalty.

Another from last weekends boxing in Germany where Beke Bas (24) extended her winning run to elven with this stoppage of Monika Antonik(30)from Poland another girl who was suspended by the GBA following her twelth loss. Hardly a shock as  beside looking out of condition two of those losses were against girls making their debut in the U.K.
