A RETIREMENT????

A really strange one this on October 18th in Amsterdam WIBF Super Bantam Weight Champ Esther Schouten(seen here on the left at the weigh in for her earlier fight with Ina Menzer) retained her title against Judy Waguthi of Niarobi and promptly announced her retirement from the pro ring.

The rumour currently going around Amsterdam is that she will shortly re-emerge in the amateur ranks in order to take part in the 20012 London Olympics representing the Nederlands.Apart from turning the Olympic boxing events into something of a"shamateur" non event the mere thought of such a good looking boxer kitted out like an American footballer in boxing gloves I find awful.

An event which is extremely unlikely to ever happen would be that Miss Schouten would have a return bout with Miss Menzer in DWWs garden ring to be fought topless.Now that would sell tickets!!!!!
