STILL A LITTLE IN THE DARK.
I have posed the question before without any luck, what is fighting in the hood?A term used for many fights in the States.
On the plus side my thanks to Hank who while on business in Indianapolis had a night at Suite38!and witnessed some great fights though he did leave before the 3.30am close as he felt things were getting a little hairy outside the ring.
He tells me that the cover charge was $10 and ladies were admitted free before 11pm.
He didn't say if they had to fight for free admission.
The expression "in the hood" is a contraction of "in the neighbourhood". i.e. what it really means is something local.

"The hood" is an expression in the US for generally the poorer, more run-down portions of a city.
