It's often thought by younger fans that mixed bouts are a thing of the new liberated age.Not true,in the "olden days"many a girl was matched against a male opponent because of a lack of girls willing to take part.

Much of this was due to the fact that in those days wrestling was for real and the girls were real tough cookies who were fighting for purse money and could hold their own against many men.
