I mentioned our few day in Whitby but it was only after our return that my ex mentioned she had been reading up on people from the heyday of UK wrestling and watching video on Youtube of their lives then and now.
Many went on to star worldwide like Irishman Dave Finlay who now lives a good life in the States while others are still working the small halls and living simple lives in houses they'll never own and just about earning a crust.
So where does Whitby come into this?
How could I have forgotten my own last or maybe next to last appearance in the pro ring was at the Whitby Pavilion in front of a crowd of at the most 40 paying punters,my ex remembers it well having looked forward to a few days away we spent one night bedded down on the car park on Whitby's West Cliff in my old motor with seagulls doing a dance on the roof at first dawn and to this day I still haven't been paid for that night.
Ah well how the other half live!!!
