A LESSON IN WELSH.

I think I am right in saying that the last bastion of tv wrestling in the UK belonged to Channel 4 Wales,the Welsh Language Channel.It was also the only mainstream channel to show the girls in action,promoter of course was a very proud Welshman Orig Williams,a good wrestler himself,now sadly gone to that great promoter in the sky.From memory this bout took place at that little theater on the sea front at Rhyl in North Wales.

The girls taking part are Lolita Loren daughter of another wrestling great Bronco Jack Cassidy who made her debut some forty years back billed as the Anglo Spitfire,you may recognise her as the chef working at your local pub if you live in the Greater Manchester area.Known now of course by her real name Chrissy Thompson.Her opponent is of course Nicky Monroe see the photo,still a very trim young lady presenting an award at a recent wrestlers meet.
