JUST A THOUGHT 99.

A LITTLE DIFFERENT.
A slight variation from the norm for this one,in all parts of the UK are promoters and gyms which are regarded as pioneers of the business and recently some footage as come up of a place that I knew well.
The Horseshoe Show Bar in Blackpool where many wrestlers learned their trade including William Regal who as work in the States for a number of years in one of these clips he was the masked man and at the front of house well known at the time in the States and UK the Mighty John Quinn.
Promoter at the time was Bobby Baron who ran three shows a day weekends and bank holidays, most shows were where the people in the crown outside could challenge his champions for a tenner a round or fifty quid if they went three rounds. There were never too many genuine challengers and the job was shared by guys that weren't well known but could carry the show.Yes I wish I had that long hair now.
As back up the show would feature at least one female bout,Bob's wife Rita was the Gypsy Sarah and a little later the
Apache Princess. Also a very young Klondyke Kate learned her trade there.
NEXT WEEK.
Fans of the wrestling scene here in the UK and the States make a note next Thursday the 27th at the Resistance Gallery,Bethnal Green,London an audience with the ground breaking super star
Adrian Street, hard to believe that now 79 years of age he made his final appearance for the IWA in the USA at the age of 74.
One of those days that I wish I was in London.
