JUST A THOUGHT 107.

TIME AND REFLECTIONS.
If nothing else the lockdown as given time to reflect on some of the things we have missed.I have watched any number of former friends on YouTube telling the story of careers in the business both short and long, many like yours truly still suffer from the injuries they suffered in the cause of entertainment.
The one thing that stood out in both the UK,Europe and the States is that few guys or girls have got rich out of wrestling, infact more than one person reflected they would have been better off working as a doorman, which reminded me of a night some time back working the door on a nightclub when two of the guys returned from appearing in Glasgow where they had both collected a number of bumps and bruises which made the journey home in the back of a ancient Transit van uncomfortable to say the least.
Swapping stories of the night I discovered I had been paid more for a few hours standing the door with few problems apart from one drug addled hard man who promised to come and get me after being refused entry. The public who have filled the halls over the years would probably be surprised at that.
DANGER!!
Something else that seems to have come in fairly recently is the risks being taken by both the guys and the girls here in the UK,possibly to compete with our friends across the pond when really there is no  need as the British style of wrestling as always been a winner and the risk involved in some of those high flying moves for me is just too great particularly as often the people attempting them are very inexperienced.

Before the lockdown myself and a friend went to watch a newish promotion put on by a young man who appeared to be using his friends who at one point were covered in blood having engaged in smashing light fittings over each others heads. Also we saw two young ladies take part in what is best described as a genuine street fight where both got hurt. This isn't doing the game any good.

Another event I went to was a bare knuckle fighting promotion in a farmers barn which also featured dangerous situation where a young man of probably eighteen was put in with an experienced guy and got a real beating. That is stupidity,I have a friend who as taken part in a number of these fights but he is a genuine hard man who in the past as taken a pro champion boxer the distance in a boxing match so a novice being allowed to go against someone like that really is madness.
